- Beware it’s many toxicities, including nephrotoxicity, dental effects, electrolyte imbalances, hematologic effects (e.g., granulocytopenia), seizures and vascular irritation
- Electrolyte disturbances may include: hypokalemia, hypocalcemia, hypomagnesemia, hypophosphatemia
- Due to toxicities, foscarnet is not frequently prescribed
