
Dr. Rivera (also known as Dr. O’Connor) obtained a Pharm.D. from The Ohio State University, then completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at University of Toledo in Toledo, OH followed by a PGY2 Pharmacy Residency in Infectious Diseases at Mayo Clinic.
She is the Antimicrobial Stewardship Clinical Pharmacy Manager and a practicing Outpatient Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) pharmacist at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. Her practice and research interests include OPAT, mycobacterial infections, orthopedic infections, therapeutic drug monitoring, and pharmacy leadership.
Dr. Rivera is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy and Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine & Science. She has authored over 90 peer reviewed publications and is a diplomate of ASHP Pharmacy Leadership Academy. She enjoys collaborating with colleagues across the country, including writing for IDStewardship.
