Alex Ebied, Pharm.D., BCCCP, received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Long Island University (Brooklyn, NY) in 2013. He then completed a pharmacy practice residency at St. Vincent’s HealthCare (Jacksonville, FL). In 2017 he joined the University of Florida (UF) College of Pharmacy as a clinical assistant professor in the department of pharmacotherapy and translational research. He maintains a clinical practice site at UF Health Shands Hospital in internal medicine, where he precepts non-traditional pharmacy students.
One of Dr. Ebied’s career passions is to mitigate the ongoing opioid crisis in which he has two publications focused on non-opioid options for pain management. In 2018 he established the inaugural University of Florida Internal Medicine Pharmacy Fellowship program which is focused towards a career in clinical practice settings or academia. He remains an active member in the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and Florida Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
