Dr. Howell obtained a Doctorate of Pharmacy at The University of Texas at Austin and then completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Emory University Hospital followed by a PGY2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Residency at Emory University Hospital Midtown/ Emory University Hospital.
Currently she practices as an Assistant Professor with the University of North Texas System College of Pharmacy in Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Howell is dual board certified in infectious diseases and pharmacotherapy. Her current practice interests include multi-drug resistant infections, infections in immunocompromised hosts, fungal infections, and public health. She is a faculty liaison for the interprofessional student organization Infectious Diseases Interest Group as well as the Student Society for Health-Systems Pharmacy.
Dr. Howell’s life goal is to make her job obsolete by effecting change on three levels including patients, providers, and the public.
