Dr. Brenda Simiyu completed her undergraduate studies at Wingate University in Wingate, NC followed by her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the same institution. Following graduation, she went on to complete a pharmacy practice residency at Jackson Hospital & Clinic in Montgomery, AL followed by an infectious diseases pharmacy residency at the Carilion Clinic: Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA.
Dr. Simiyu currently practices as an infectious diseases and antimicrobial stewardship pharmacist at West Jefferson Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. Her areas of interest include HIV management and multidrug-resistant infections. She continues to be an active member of several professional organizations, including AAHIVM and MAD-ID.
