If you like the book, please leave us a review! Reviews also help people find the right listing and avoid fraudulent / catfish postings.

Of note, Amazon does not provide the book as an option to all areas of the world. We are working to make the book available globally.

Who Is The Learn Antibiotics Book For?

The Learn Antibiotics book is for all teachers and learners of infectious diseases.

Rather than make multiple different products for the many different learners out there, this one book hits to the heart and soul of bugs and drugs which is applicable and important to all learners of antibiotics. This book is for students, interns, residents, fellows, and practicing professionals. It can be used to study for the BCPS exam, BCIDP exam, NAPLEX exam, PANCE exam, STEP 1/2/3, or any other health professions exam where knowledge of antimicrobial pharmacotherapy is required.

The Learn Antibiotics book can be used to brush up on infectious diseases knowledge or as a resource for preceptors to use with their learners.

What Is Inside The Learn Antibiotics Book?

The book includes cheat sheets, worksheets, memorization sheets, word searches, match games, rapid fire tests, quick fire tests, and a master test.

Items such as word searches and match games help learners to identify and define while the different types of practice tests support analysis and assessment.

The Learn Antibiotics book contains information targeted towards clinical microbiology, spectrum of activity, fluoroquinolones, glycopeptides, tetracyclines, macrocodes & clindamycin, beta-lactams, pneumonia, urinary tract infection, malaria, biostatistics, and more.

Is There A Second Edition of Learn Antibiotics?

The first edition was a labor of love, taking over 6 years to develop what you will find under the cover. Additional resources (including what is in the book) are available for access by membership at www.LearnAntibiotics.com, which has thousands of members and is good for learners who prefer digital study tools over physical books.

In 2023 we will be working on other resources for print form and also adding more content to www.LearnAntibiotics.com, so stay tuned!

Who Created The Learn Antibiotics Book?

The Learn Antibiotics Book is authored by Dr. Timothy P. Gauthier, who is dual-board certified infectious diseases clinical pharmacist and antimicrobial stewardship expert.

You can learn more about the author here and he can be reached at IDstewardship@gmail.com or through @IDstewardship on social media.

Can I Make Copies Of The Learn Antibiotics Book Or Distribute Copies Of Certain Pages?

No.

The book may not be copied in whole or partial form for distribution without the written authorization of the author and publisher.

There are no entities authorized to print or share this content beyond www.LearnAntibiotics.com, www.IDstewardship.com, and Amazon.

Is The Learn Antibiotics Book Reliable?

The Learn Antibiotics book is a fundamental study tool and is not intended to replace sound clinical judgement or be a substitute for al licensed healthcare practitioner’s patient-specific medical advice. Infectious diseases are a complex study topic, certain content is simplified for teaching purposes

It has been reviewed for content accuracy by two other infectious diseases pharmacists. Mush of the content in the book has been in use for years as part of the www.LearnAntibiotics.com memberships, for which there has been consistent positive feedback on the quality of the product.

We expect there may be a few things we missed, as we are mere humans after all! Using Amazon, if we find anything that needs adjustment we can upload the newest version of the book so future readers will benefit from any changes that we make. Amazon prints books as the orders come in, so order dates and print dates correlate. We have made the following adjustments so far:

  • In the Pseudomonas word search, rifampin and rifampicin were in the word bank but omitted from the puzzle. Tobramycin and cefepime had minor spelling errors in the puzzle. This is corrected and will only be seen in books printed before 12/25/2022.
  • In the Drugs of Choice Memorization Sheet of answers page, Streptococcus pyogenes was listed as alpha hemolytic. This has been corrected to say beta-hemolytic (as it states in other areas of the book). In addition, on the blanks page (but not the answers page) of this worksheet the organisms Clostridium perfringens and Clostridioides difficile were swapped. This is corrected and will only be seen in books printed before 12/30/2022.

If you suspect you have found any opportunities for improvement in the book you are welcomed to direct message @IDstewardship on social media or email IDstewardship@gmail.com.
