World Antibiotic Awareness Week (WAAW) is November 18-24, 2019. In an effort to encourage engagement in this important week of awareness we are bringing you the first ever #WAAWcontest! It will have 3 winners!!!

CONTEST GOAL

To raise awareness about the problem of antimicrobial resistance through incentivizing people to engage on social media and talk about it

WHAT YOU CAN WIN

A $50 amazon gift card

1 Year All-Access Membership to LearnAntibiotics.com

($150 value)

5 Cute Pill Pens

(can we even put a price on those cuties?)

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Participants must follow all of the following rules to be eligible to win…

1. Post to Instagram, Twitter, and/or Facebook using the hashtag #WAAWcontest between now and November 24th 2019

2. Include a visual (e.g., picture, drawing, meme, gif) in an original post about using antibiotics wisely, try to make it educational and/or entertaining and/or interesting to a broad audience

3. Tag at least 5 of your friends in your post

4. Follow @IDstewardship on the social media platform(s) you post to

5. Make sure your account can receive direct messages in case you win!



Don’t use social media? No problem! Now is a great time to start an account and have a voice, even if it’s just for this event!

We encourage everyone to search the hashtag #WAAWcontest and share, like, favorite, retweet, and comment on posts to help spread the word!



HOW WE WILL PICK A WINNER

The top post (as judged by engagement via likes, favorites, shares, retweets, and comments) that follows all of the above rules will be identified at the end of World Antibiotic Awareness Week

We will have one winner from Instagram, one winner from Twitter, and one winner from Facebook

The winners will be announced the week following World Antibiotic Awareness Week via the @IDstewardship Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook Page

In the unlikely event that unforeseen circumstances cause us to be unable to pick a winner, we will donate $250 to a charitable foundation

REASONS FOR BEING INELIGIBLE TO WIN

Including any patient information or protected health information in your submission

Any submissions that are demeaning towards others

Any submissions that use curse words

Scientifically inaccurate posts

(NOTE: if you are going to talk about completing the course of antibiotics read this first)

The post is not searchable on the social media platform

Must be 18 years of age or older to qualify

Posting an excessive number of times or trolling others

We reserve the right to reject any submissions we deem unprofessional or unsuitable
